LIBERTARIANS SAY DECLARE YOUR INDEPENDENCE IN 2006

Westbury, NY 7/4/06 --Libertarian Party of New York Chair Richard Cooper urges New Yorkers to declare their independence this year from what he calls the "Demopublicans" to vote Libertarian, register Libertarian and get involved with the Libertarian Party. The Westbury, Long Island executive contends that "Only the Libertarians are consistently in favor of individual liberty, free markets and personal responsibility in order to promote a society that enjoys more justice, abundance and peace." Statewide, the Libertarians are runnng Jeffrey Russell (Clifton Park) for US Senate, John Clifton (Jamaica) for Governor, Donald Silberger (New Paltz) for Lt. Governor, John Cain (Congers) for Comptroller and Christopher Garvey (Amityville) for Attorney-General. Libertarians will start fanning out across New York on July 11th to gather petition signatures to qualify for the November ballot.

Four congressional candidates are running on the Libertarian line: Dr. Steve Finger in NY-11 (Brooklyn); Eric Sundwall in NY-20 (Columbia County); Warren Redlich in NY-21 (Albany) ; Michael Syliva in NY-24 (Tompkins & Oneida Counties).

State Senate and Assembly candidates have been nominated from the Bronx, New York (Manhattan), Monroe, and Dutchess Counties. -30-
