Weiner's Next Move? By Richard Cooper

Former Congressman Anthony Weiner lost badly in the Democrat primary for New York City mayor following the exposure of more sexting escapades.   However, he may still not have gotten rid of the urge to be in the public eye.

Another opportunity awaits. Go North young man. Go to Toronto.  Run for Mayor of Toronto.  You will fit in with Mayor Rob Ford who admits to smoking crack on video, trying to explain it away as having happened during a drunken stupor.

Dear Christine Quinn: What You Ought To Know

Dear Christine Quinn: What you ought to know is that while the speakership of the New York City Council is a powerful position in governance of the entire City, it is not a citywide elected position.  You were elected by the city council and their political masters, the county chair of the five county Democrat Party machines.   Since the City Council presidency was abolished and the speakership created how many speakers have been elected Mayor?

Do you remember Gifford Miller and Peter Vallone Sr?  They had the same confusion.

Yes, the prominence and power of the speakership lets you gain name recognition, make friends and raise money but it also can let you obtain public contempt, make enemies and inspire contributions to defeat you.   All of which aspects, good and bad, happened on primary day.

While the Public Advocate is a meaningless position of no power, it is filled by the voters of the entire city.   If I lived in the city I would vote for Alex Merced, the Libertarian candidate.

On the other hand, while the Comptroller is elected citywide, the current occupant John Liu eked out a narrow margin over Anthony Weiner.   If I lived in the city I would vote for Hesham El-Meligy, the Libertarian candidate.

If I lived in the city I would vote for Michael Sanchez, the Libertarian candidate for NYC mayor.

NYC Mayoral Candidate Anthony Weiner Says He Is Tough

In a new ad, former Congressman Anthony Weiner says he is tough.  I guess that is because he is Carlos Danger Man.  (see my lyrics to the tune of "Secret Agent Man").

How is he tough?  He will use the power of the state to deprive people of their property to give to favored others.  He has that in common with his Democrat and Republican opponents.  He is just ruder in expressing himself.

For an alternative, Michael Sanchez is the Libertarian Party candidate for New York City mayor.  He will be tough in defending the rights of New Yorkers against people like Anthony Weiner and Michael Bloomberg.

Carlos Danger Man

"There's a man who leads a life of Twitter.
To everyone he meets he remains a Weiner.
With every move he makes finances in he rakes.
Odds are he won't see City Hall.
"Carlos Danger Man.  Carlos Danger Man.
They've given you a handle and taken away your name."

Mardis Gras, New York City Style

February 2014, New Yorkers saw more of newly-elected Mayor Anthony Weiner as he inaugurated a new tradition of proceeding down Broadway  in a jockstrap tossing out Mardis Gras beads and ordering women to expose their breasts.   The twit continually updated this spectacle on Twitter.

The Odd Couple Revival

The "Odd Couple" should be revived starring Anthony Weiner and Eliot Spitzer in the roles played on Broadway and the film by Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau, later captured brilliantly by Tony Randall and Jack Klugman.

Can't you just picture them living together after their wives toss them out?

NY Citywide Office Sex Maniac Slate

Weiner is running for Mayor. Spitzer is running for Comptroller.  Maybe we could have Vito Lopez for Public or should it be Private Advocate.

Mayoral Roots?

If NYC Council speaker Christine Quinn is elected mayor, she would be the third mayor in a row to have grown up outside New York City. I am supporting Michael Sanchez, the Libertarian Party candidate for mayor.
